At the end of the day, they are salespeople, so their lofty "This-or-that isn't worthy" pronouncements are hard to stomach.<br /><br />And, oy vey, the time it takes. I'm a fan of hybrid publishing--a mix of traditional and indie--and the only reason I decided to dip my toes in the indie world is I didn't want to wait six months for my manuscript to be read, let alone a year or two for it to be published. A new edition means using another one.<br />For one title you might have paperback, kindle version, Nook version, Kobo version, iPad version... that's five ISBNs. <br />I think I'd be on my 85th if I had started with them from scratch. <br />On one hand, I'd like that, on the other - I don't think any reader really notices.
