That would be ages 9-11. Middle school is grades 6-8, or ages 11-13, and a transition both in terms of kids' development and their schools, since we break schooling into 3, with elementary, middle school, and high school. Perfect way to emphasize that kids that age are neither fish nor fowl :pRebecca M.
