Even before she read it, she told me that if there was something I loved about it, it was almost certainly worth the effort of rewriting. I had done so much by then, but when I took her feedback and what I'd learned writing my other books, I was able to make it a real book. It can be disheartening to rewrite and rewrite, but the end result is satisfying. Of course, it's possible to have a book that's hopelessly flawed--but Leslie makes me think that if you're willing to put in the work, even a crumpled plane crash can be made to fly.Rebecca M.
