Most were brilliant. I've not read any books set in this time though, not since I was reading spy thrillers, and that doesn't deal with the common folk. Of course I can never remember their titles. One dealt with how the kids coped when their mother was unable to comprehend that the wall had come down. Another was about a journalist who kept managing to get clandestine reports out to the West, and the effect on his family. You'll probably recognise one where an advertising exec was inveigled into a spy mission to secure the release of a US student studying in Berlin who had crossed the wall as they were building it to see his girlfriend - I think Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance were in it, although it was more about the Tom Hanks character, of course.<br />All are at least YA of course. :)Jemima Petthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17110647375899927233noreply@blogger.com
